I feel the Lord impressing me strongly with a word for the church and for the people of our church:
“This is the season to try to make things right with your family.”
I hope you will hear me on this. Some of you have been dug in, rebellious and hard headed. You have basically had the stand point, “Bless God, I’m not going to tell them I’m sorry! I’m not apologizing! I didn’t do anything wrong!”
Well… let me ask you, how has that been working for you for the past ten years? I would venture to say it has kept you divided, separated and has also kept you and other family members stirred up on a regular basis.
The Bible says that the angels came and they announced this incredible message: God is getting ready to change everything! No longer is He going to dwell in a temple! No longer is He only going to speak to the prophets and the priests.
The truth is, God laid out a pattern of religion that no man could attain to. The best they could do is have the priests go in once a year and cover their sins. After that, they would have to deal with it year after year after year.
There’s a reason God set up the old covenant. He did it to show man that in all his stubbornness and rebellion, even with the best religion out there, it still can’t save him.
Then, glory to God, the new covenant opened up! An angel from Heaven came and said, “Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will toward man.” (Luke 2:14)
At that point EVERYTHING started to change. No longer is God only going to the prophet, the priest or the king. Now, He is going to a teenage little girl. A common average “Joe”. He is going to shepherds living out in the fields, astrologers, and wise men.
Listen my friend, the MESSAGE has come to everyone! It is a message FOR everyone! It is PEACE and GOOD WILL!
I know this is going to be tough on some of you reading this. The truth is, with some of you, your life revolves around the conflict. Hear me on this… I am simply telling you what the Lord put in my heart for you to hear.
I know there are things in life that happen that it takes two people to resolve. You can apologize and do all you can personally do, yet, the conflict is still there because the one person in the other part of the family will not let go of it. I get that. Thankfully, Paul addressed that in Romans. He said,
If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live
peaceably with all men. Romans 12:18
Listen, I cannot control what you do to me, but I CAN control what I do to you and what I think and say about you. As much as it depends on me and as much as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone!
I’m challenging you during this Christmas season.
Whatever it takes, do what needs to be done. If family members are out of town, write them a letter. If you are gathering together and you know that the family member you have a conflict with is going to be there, at some point during your day, pull them aside, and even if they are the one that caused all the conflict, look them in the eye and say, “Listen, could you please forgive me? I want you to know I love you. You are my family. You are a part of my blood and I love you whether we ever agree or not! I love you with an unconditional love. It is time for us to bury the hatchet.”
Then, reach out and put your hand on their shoulder or grab their hand in love. I guarantee tears are more than likely going to start flowing. The power of this season, the love of God is going to begin to manifest.
Let me say this again, this is as STRONG of a word as I’ve EVER HEARD from the Lord.
Take this seriously my friend. The Bible says the love of God has been poured out into your heart by the Holy Ghost. (Romans 5:5) If this applies to you and you KNOW you need to respond, lift both hands to Heaven right now and agree with me in prayer!
“Holy Spirit come and manifest the great love of God to overflowing in every person who is responding to this right now. When they encounter that difficult situation, with the difficult people that have been in their family and in their life, Lord, I thank You that You are going to give them GREAT peace. PEACE on earth! You are going to bring the peace into that home and into that family because this Believer decided to walk in love and peace! Lord, we AGREE! Thank You Lord, for resolution coming to families! Thank You for moving on our behalf! We give You praise in Jesus Name!!!”
My friend, I hope you take heed to this message. If you do, this could be the GREATEST CHRISTMAS in the HISTORY of your family!
Know that I am standing, praying and believing with you!
Blessings to you and Merry Christmas!
