Are you ready to receive the glory? Are you ready to receive all that God has for you?
Many have asked, “What does that mean? What is the glory of God? How do I receive it?” That’s a great question.
I can tell you this: It’s GOOD! It’s life-changing! It’s never the same when you touch it! It’s totally addictive! You can spend the rest of your life just wanting one more taste of the glory of God. One more touch of His glory, His presence! His glory literally changes us from glory to glory. What we knew yesterday He wants to change today. He wants to bring and unfold another level of His glory, His power, and His demonstration.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:4,
And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.
The demonstration (or the manifestation) is when God shows off. It’s when God shows His love and His power. He comes and touches people’s lives. I hope you know He still manifests today! He manifests in love. He manifests in any need you have. Whatever you have need of is in the glory!
Listen friend, you don’t have to understand what that is. I know we use a lot of Christian terms sometimes, but just reach up by faith and receive it.
I know I’ve been repeating myself a lot lately in my messages, but they are things I received from Heaven so I have to repeat it. I want to make sure we all get it. I hear the Lord speaking in my heart continually that we need to learn to receive. So many times we try to earn it or do all that we can to get it, but God just wants us to receive.
The first thing He wants you to do is receive His love.
He has unconditional love that He wants you to receive. It is love that cannot be earned. You cannot be religious enough to get His love. You cannot do enough good works to get it. You just need to receive His love.
It’s as simple as telling Him, “Lord I receive Your love.”
Romans 5:5 says,
…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost…
Literally that means “poured out to overflow” in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.
The love of God is the foundation for everything. When you receive His love go ahead and receive all His other blessings as well. Receive healing in your body. Receive direction, wisdom and favor for your financial miracle. Receive your sons and daughters coming home. Receive household salvation. Whatever you have need of RECEIVE it from Him!
Isaiah 60:1 says this in the Message,
Get out of bed, Jerusalem! Wake up. Put your face in the sunlight. God’s bright glory has risen for you.
In the New King James it says,
Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
We need to wake up! The glory of the Lord is HERE and has risen on US!
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people…
It almost looks like the devil is winning, but he’s not. It’s as if God is saying, “I have you where I want you. You’re in a position of pride again. That’s what caused you to fall in the first place.” The devil’s pride is the same thing that will cause him to fall in the end as well.
Let’s read the rest of verse 2 and 3,
But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
“Kings” is referring to kings, rulers, governors, mayors, presidents who will one day all come to the brightness of His rising.
Verse 4 and 5:
Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side. 5 Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.
If you want that, If you are ready to receive it, shout out, “I RECEIVE IT!” Speak out your faith! Speak it out boldly! Let God know what you want!
What is amazing and crazy at the same time is when you receive His glory outside of church. When you wake up in the glory or you are driving down the road and His glory, His presence jumps in the car with you. It’s an amazing thing.
In the past I have gone on prolonged fasts. I’ve done a lot of different religious efforts. I’ve done some with a good heart and others while trying to make God do something. The truth is every time the glory has come on me, and I don’t mean just touches of it, I mean when you walk in it for days, (the last time for me went on for months,) it always came in a very non-religious, almost carnal moment in my life. I wasn’t in sin or anything, but the glory came!
What I learned to take away from those moments is that all the works in the world won’t get you the glory of God. It’s all about receiving it. It’s all about believing that He wants to come on you. You have to believe that His glory, His presence wants to come on you.
I know by saying that His glory wants to come on you some have different concepts of what that is. I’ll tell you this: if it comes on you, you WILL know it!
Here’s the truth: every time His glory has hit me, I felt His love. It was an overflow of love towards God and due to the fact that both times happened around my wife, this overflow of love came in me towards her as well.
Next came understanding.
I was praying the Ephesians 1 and Ephesian 3 prayers regularly. I believe that’s one of the keys to all of this. I was praying those continually because I was reminded of Brother Hagin saying how he prayed those prayers for over a year straight every day for himself. So I prayed, “Lord I want a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You.” When the glory came, all of a sudden wisdom and revelation came like I have never had before. Things that were cloudy in my thinking theologically or doctrinally had God all of a sudden shining a full light on it.
I told my wife it was like walking around with a fire hose stuck to my head, hooked up straight to Heaven with it open full blast.
When the glory hits some people, their first move might be to go to a psychiatrist’s office. You might actually think you’ve lost your mind. I had people thinking I had lost my mind. My thought was, “if I have, don’t give me any pills for it. I’m enjoying my insanity.”
I hesitate sharing all of what I experienced because I know it makes people uncomfortable. But I share it so you will get hungry.
Listen friend, when the glory hits you, you’ll think, “OHHH, this is what Pastor Doug was talking about!” I believe those who are hungry are getting ready to have an “OHHH” moment! That is… if you want it!
That being said, the glory could come and then leave if you don’t know what it is.
The Holy Spirit is shown as a dove because it is easy for a dove to be shooed away. Listen, when it sets on you, FREEZE. Let the presence of the Holy Ghost flutter and hover over you like a dove.
If you want this, here’s where you start:
Start praying Ephesians 1:17-23 and 3:14-21. Pray them over your church, your pastor, your family and of course over yourself daily!
It’s the power of invitation!
That is another one of the keys that I learned! If you invite the Holy Spirit to come… He WILL.
Think about it this way: In Revelation 3 the Bible talks about how Jesus is standing at the door and knocking. Jesus CAN walk through doors, walls and any other barrier, but He won’t. He stands at the door and knocks because He’s waiting for you to open it.
What does it say He’s going to do? He’s going to come in and sup with you. Meaning, He’s going to come in and basically say “what’s up with you? Let’s hang out.” He will begin to hang with you. He’ll reveal His love and His glory. He’ll give you a heart for people like you’ve never had before. Winning the lost, changing lives is God’s number one job… always has been always will be. He WILL give you His heart!
That day is getting close. I hope and pray we all have ears to hear and hearts to receive!
Let me encourage you to read the book of Joel. When you do, read it alongside the book of Acts. Let Peter be the one that gives you the commentary and explains what Joel means for us, the church. While there are some double references in there talking about Israel, Joel is really talking about what God is going to do in the last days of the church. Peter confirms that in Acts chapter two.
Listen friend… what Peter prophesied based on the book of Joel, what he declared on the day of Pentecost has happened and IS happening. I hope you are preparing yourself… because the rest of the book of Joel is getting ready to come to pass!
I don’t know about you, but I want to be a part of that Army! I pray you do to!
Blessings to you!
